SFR Analytics and Hub

The ‘Online Now’ Feature

Estimated reading: 2 minutes 23 views

Thiis guide explains how to use the Online Now features in:

  • SFR Analytics (f0.7.0+)
  • SFR Analytics Hub (1.8.0+)

1) What “Online Now” means

Online Now is a rolling recent-activity count.

  • Default window: last 5 minutes
  • Count type: unique recent visitor hashes
  • Intended use: quick live check, not exact websocket-style concurrency

2) Where to find it

In SFR Analytics

Go to: Analytics > Dashboard

Use the dedicated Online Now row:

  • Check Online Now (manual check)
  • Auto-refresh online toggle (off by default)
  • Interval selector: 15s, 30s, 60s

In SFR Analytics Hub

Go to: Analytics Hub > Dashboard

Use the dedicated Online Now row:

  • Check Online Now
  • Auto-refresh online toggle (off by default)
  • Interval selector
  • Total online summary across connected sites
  • Per-site online counts
  • Active Sites Now mini-panel

This lets you view live online visitors across all connected sites from one central dashboard.

3) Recommended usage

  • Keep auto-refresh off for normal use.
  • Use manual checks for lightweight monitoring.
  • Enable auto-refresh only when actively watching a campaign, launch, or traffic spike.
  • Use 30s interval as a sensible default.

4) Why count can look lower than expected

Online counts depend on each feeder site’s tracking settings.

Common reasons:

  • Admin role excluded from tracking
  • Your IP is excluded (“Ignore My IP”)
  • Country exclusions are enabled
  • Bot/non-human traffic is filtered
  • Site is on an older SFR Analytics version without online endpoint support

5) Quick troubleshooting checklist

If Hub Online Now looks wrong:

  1. Confirm feeder sites run latest SFR Analytics (currently 0.7.0+).
  2. Open feeder site dashboard and test Online Now there first.
  3. Check feeder site exclusions:
  • roles
  • IPs
  • countries
  1. Confirm Application Password credentials in Hub are valid.
  2. Re-test from a different browser/session and wait at least one refresh cycle.

6) Best practices for live testing

  • Use one private/incognito browser plus one normal browser to simulate separate visitors.
  • Avoid testing only while logged in as admin if admin tracking is excluded.
  • Test with a known interval (30s) and observe two or three cycles.

7) FAQ

Does “Auto-refresh online” refresh all charts and reports?

No. It refreshes Online Now only.

Is auto-refresh enabled by default?

No. It is off by default to keep resource usage lightweight.

Can I see online across all my sites in one place?

Yes. SFR Analytics Hub shows a Total online value and per-site live counts across connected sites.
