Best Practices

 Test First

Always test shortcodes in a regular post or page before adding them to category descriptions. This ensures they work correctly on your site.

 Keep It Relevant

Only add shortcodes that are relevant to the specific category. A restaurant booking form doesn’t belong in an automotive category.

 Don’t Overload

Use shortcodes strategically. Too many shortcodes on one page can slow loading times and overwhelm visitors.

 Mobile Optimization

Always check how shortcodes display on mobile devices. Test on actual phones and tablets, not just browser resize.

 Strategic Placement

Place important shortcodes (like contact forms) near the top of descriptions where users will see them immediately.

 Mix Text with Shortcodes

Combine regular text with shortcodes for better context and readability. Don’t just dump shortcodes without explanation.

 Backup Before Major Changes

If you’re adding shortcodes to many categories at once, backup your database first as a precaution.
