Project Scope & Methodology
The first phase of the assignment was to review the website and core process and present the business owner with recommendations including updating the registration processes, menu changes and changes to the presentation of the website’s content.
Most of the recommendations were jointly implemented across the site with careful consideration of the overall look and feel of the website. Additional analytics were added to monitor website traffic and traffic sources.
The second phase of the project is being delivered via a monthly support contract. Richard is maintaining the WordPress website and working with the owner, Simon, to further refine processes, add new content, identify new users and retain existing users.
Future work will include small advertising projects, increasing the site’s exposure on social media and adding innovative content.
Main plugins
The main plugins used to deliver this website solution are:
S2Member – used to control access to content across the website. The plugin allows the user to protect WordPress Posts, Pages, Tags, Categories, URIs, BuddyPress/bbPress, and even portions of content within Posts, Pages, themes, plugins. Three levels were set up – Bronze, Silver and Gold. Silver and Gold have a paywall. Bronze just requires registration.
Divi – a theme by elegant themes. This very versatile theme and page builder was used by the original developer to create the website. Divi is the most popular WordPress theme In the world.

Richard was able to identify issues with my fledgling website and offered solutions and workarounds to help increase its chances of success.
